Iman came across this very talented drummer, who is posting overdubs played with his roland drumset on youtube. Actually he is playing live to the record, which is dub in the most original form. He is the only one so far Iman know, who plays dem drums of “Groundation”. Anyone who has ever heard about this band, has to admit, that their drummer “Papa” Paul Sima, is one of the “sickest” drummers in the scene. Incredibly precise played breaks and rolls in places where you not even would dare to think about it, are one of his trademarks. The music and arrangements of this band are mixing jazz into reggae like it never has been done before.
So this young bredren, with the name Jolinio from France(?), gives you quite a good overview over the work of Paul Sima, even though he is not always playing the exact beats like Paul. No one ever come anymore and tell I&I, reggae drumming is boring.
